Good afternoon NV families,

Our community is continuing to navigate the impacts of the recent flooding, and we know that many families are facing difficult and uncertain circumstances. Our thoughts are with those who have experienced damage, displacement, or ongoing challenges as waters recede and recovery begins.

To allow time to continue supporting families most affected, all Nooksack Valley School District schools will be closed on Monday, December 15. During this time, school staff will be reaching out to families to check in, offer support, and help connect those in need with available resources.

At the same time, we recognize that school provides important stability, routine, and care for students and families. Our current hope is to reopen schools Tuesday through Friday, so families who are ready and need school can count on us during this time.

We also want families to know that if your circumstances require your child to miss school, that is okay. Absences related to flooding, displacement, or recovery will be understood and excused. Please do what is best for your family as you focus on safety, housing, and recovery.

We are grateful for the resilience, kindness, and care that continue to define the Nooksack Valley community. We will keep families informed as conditions evolve and appreciate your patience and partnership as we move forward together.
