A group of Nooksack Valley High School students spent Spring Break 2025 putting their Spanish to the test while traveling from coast to coast in Costa Rica to experience a jungle, volcano, rivers and beaches. 
 
The school-hosted trip gave students an experience of a lifetime, where highlights included seeing monkeys outside their rooms in Tortuguero and traveling through canals to see sloths, monkeys, birds, alligators, iguanas, snakes and more. The students also bonded over time in pools, ziplining, horseback riding, kayaking, body surfing in the ocean and white water rafting. 
 
The entire event was a Spanish-language emersion full of adventure.
