Nooksack Valley Middle School faculty and staff will open the doors of the brand-new building for students and parents on Monday, Aug. 28, giving them a sneak peek at the new venue.
The open house and classroom visits will run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., offering both students and parents a chance to meet teachers, classmates and tour the school so students grow comfortable with the location of rooms prior to the Wednesday, Aug. 30, first day of school.
This year, different than previously, there will not be a barbecue to open the year due to the ongoing construction at the school.
While the new drop-off lane will be in use for the open house, parking will need to be at Christ Fellowship as parking is not yet available at the new middle school. ASB leaders will be outside to help direct traffic and greet visitors as they look for their new classrooms. To start the school year, the entrance to the school will be through the commons on the north side of the new school.
There will be a community-wide open house in October when the new gym, locker rooms and parking lot are completed.
