Fresh Faces: NVMS welcomes Shelby Wilson

The sixth-grade math and science classrooms have a new face at Nooksack Valley Middle School. Shelby Wilson starts her teaching career in Nooksack Valley Schools following a student teaching program through Western Washington University at Mount Baker Junior High School.

As NVMS grows, so does Character Strong curriculum

Nooksack Valley Middle School grew by 60 students this year, up to a record 430 students to start the school calendar. And as the school year gets going, every one of those students is spending time putting a focus on building character, creating relationships and growing connections.

Everson fifth graders share an experience, design an opportunity to write

The Everson Elementary gym transformed during the first week of school as the two fifth grade classrooms took it over for a relay race. Sure, there was plenty of cheering and laughter as teams of three wheeled pizza boxes — and each other — around a coned course in the gym, part of a pizza delivery challenge. But the event was about far more than just having a good time (there was that, too, though).
