Every student within Nooksack Valley Schools will soon receive an invitation to join ParentSquare, an app the district has adopted to serve as a hub for all school information and alerts.

Each family in the district will receive an email from ParentSquare around Aug. 25 inviting them to download the app. Once downloaded, families can sign up for Nooksack Valley Schools and individualize their preferences, so they receive information and alerts in a way that suits their needs.

"We are hoping to get all of our school information, our alerts and our communication, under one umbrella," says Matt Galley, superintendent. "We are hoping this becomes the hub of information that families start with to get what they need quickly and efficiently."

Currently, families need to sign into Skyward to view some info, visit the district's website or social media for other pieces and communicate with teachers via Remind. ParentSquare can centralize all of that, ensuring two-way communication with teachers within the app and function as a starting point to reach information on the district website. ParentSquare can also push out information, whether attendance alerts or calls, updates from after-school programs or inclement weather alerts. Skyward and the district website will still serve as primary resources for students and families and ParentSquare provides quick-link access to both locations.

Watch for an email from ParentSquare around Aug. 25.
